Raja urges PM to clear, fast-track BSNL tender

Telecom Minister Andimuthu Raja has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue of BSNL’s mega GSM tender, seeking his intervention to protect BSNL’s market share, CNBC-TV18 reports quoting sources.
BSNL, in 2007, floated a tender to buy 93 million GSM lines and Raja, it is learnt, has written to the PM the tender is “very important” for BSNL’s future. Recently, some reports suggested the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had suggested a quick retender.
Sources said Raja assured the PM that all procedures were followed in the BSNL order process and that an independent committee may look into the tender.
